BECOME A VOLUNTEER WITH THE STROKE BEFRIENDING SERVICE!
Are you friendly, warm, with a good “listening ear”?
Could you provide meaningful conversation or share experiences with people who have had a stroke?
Do you have previous experience in a caring role either professionally or personally or have you had a stroke, or a TIA?
If so, Volunteer Cornwall and the Stroke Befriending Service needs you!
We are particularly interested to hear from prospective Volunteers in the following areas: Penzance/Newlyn, St Ives/Carbis Bay, Helston & Newquay, as we have several people in urgent need of short-term companionship to increase confidence and reduce isolation.
All our Volunteers are fully trained and supported to deliver their role.
The Stroke Befriending Service is for people who are over the age of 18, have been diagnosed with a stroke, and are registered with a GP in Cornwall.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you could provide some greatly needed support and encouragement to people who have experienced a stroke.

Social Prescribing walking group
One of the social prescribers in Liskeard is looking to set up a simple walking group for patients at Rosedean.
The walking group would not be for extensive walks and will try to cater for people who may be only able to walk shorter distances. The walks are planned to be for up 40 mins to an hour, ending with a coffee in a local cafe, for those who would like refreshments at the end of the walk. The walks will start from Dean Street, near the surgery.
The walk will take place every other week and will be on a Wednesday at 10.30 am.
If you are interested in getting involved and supporting these walks please get in touch at – This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
CPL 12 Saltash Volunteers Needed.
Your local Saltash community HUB needs you!
The Community Hub, as part of community enterprises PL12, acts as a community kitchen and social morning for the community. They are looking to recruit volunteers to help the group run effectively and offer social support during the session.
The hub runs every Wednesday from 10 – 12am, with the main role involving chatting to people & making a cuppa etc.
The group operates out of CPL12 on fore street in Saltash, so we are looking for volunteers in the area to help.
