On 21st December, darkest day of the year, the People in Mind (PIM) partnership is launching Cornwall Shines a Light, a campaign rooted in community, compassion, and hope.
Winter can sometimes feel challenging. Shorter days and colder weather often bring feelings of isolation or low mood, especially for those already finding things hard.
Cornwall Shines a Light is here to remind everyone: You are not alone, and support is within reach when you need it.
From 21st December through March 2026, Volunter Cornwall and its PiM partners will share images of light, stories of hope, and messages of solidarity on their social media platforms using the hashtag #CornwallShinesALight
How you can get involved
We’d love you to join in. Whether you’re an organisation or a community group that cares about mental health, you can help shine a light by:
- Sharing a photo of a torch candle, lantern, or any light shining in the dark
- Including a message of hope, a local event or tagging your local group.
- Using the hashtag #CornwallShinesALight on social media to spread the word
