What does this session entail?

This one-day course is designed to give people an awareness of coaching, including the skills and knowledge needed to offer coaching support to others.

Who would benefit?

This course would benefit anyone interested in helping other people in a work, volunteering or leisure context. No formal qualifications are necessary but a reasonable standard of English will be expected.

What does the content cover?

The course enables learners to understand:

  • How coaching differs from other services such as guidance, counselling and mentoring
  • The benefits coaching can bring
  • Communication skills, including rapport building, listening and questioning techniques
  • Models of coaching practice
  • Motivators and drivers that influence our behaviour

How is the course assessed?

No formal assessment.

This is a highly participative course and provides considerable opportunity for safe coaching practice within the session. This is with with group discussions and various activities / exercises. 

You will participate in a light touch skills practice during a breakout session to integrate theory into practice  

On completion of this non-accredited course, an in-house certificate of attendance and participation will be issued.
