1st - 7th June is Volunteers Week and on behalf of the trustees and staff at Volunteer Cornwall we'd like to say a huge THANK YOU, not just to our own volunteers (without whom we could not function) but also to the estimated 140,000 volunteers across all of the voluntary, community and public sector organisations in the county.

From supporting children and young people to get the best start in life, to supporting elderly people with health and care needs; from protecting our wonderful environment and it's glorious bio-diversity to organising and running festivals and events throughout the year, the voluntary sector in Cornwall is a vibrant and dynamic force for good and volunteers are its life blood.

So if you volunteer, this week is the time to pause and reflect on what a fantastic difference you are making. And if you don't currently volunteer, there is no time like the present to get started. Pop on over to the "do-it" site and take a look at the thousands of volunteering opportunities just waiting for YOU.

And if you are looking for other ways to say "thank you" to a volunteer, why not nominate them for the 2017 Cornwall Celebrates Volunteering Awards - visit our webpage to find out more.
