Everyone will have seen the shocking pictures of the devastation caused by the recent floods in the Cornish village of Coverack. Thankfully, there was no loss of life or serious injury and the response of the community, pulling together to support each other, has been inspirational.

Cornwall Council has produced comprehensive advice for people affected by or with questions  about the flooding which you can find on their website.

If you want to help, the most useful way is to make a donation to the flood funds set up for this purpose: One is managed by Cornwall Community Foundation and the other through Cornwall Live

If you want to offer your time, The Red Cross are looking for volunteers for their Emergency Response Team or you could become a Befriender with Age UK (Cornwall & IoS). Befrienders are needed for some of those affected by the floods who have no immediate family to turn to for help as they try to rebuild and move on.

Volunteer Cornwall has other volunteering roles such as Drivers & Home from Hospital Service where we can put your time and skills to good use helping others - contact us on 01872 266988 to find out more.
