Volunteer Cornwall deliver a range of projects which focus on building connections in our communities and now we have a dedicated programme to help people alleviate their feelings of loneliness and reconnect to their local community. We believe volunteering is a fantastic way to build confidence, learn new skills, make friends and engage with your community and that anyone who wants to should be able to volunteer.
What is the Viva loneliness project?
Viva Loneliness is a new project that can help anyone who may be feeling lonely or socially isolated to feel more connected to others. We do this by meeting up and having a chat and talking about what hobbies and interests people have and how we can work together to reconnect them to their community.
We help people find welcoming, meaningful and enjoyable volunteering opportunities within their local community or if this is not for them, we can signpost to other activities or organisations that may be better suited.
It is funded by the Big Lottery Community Fund.
