This year's Cornwall Celebrates Volunteering Awards Ceremony took place on Thursday 24th November at the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay. In front of an audience of invited guests, nominees and nominators, the Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall, Col Edward Bolitho, presented the Highly Commended and Winning Volunteers with their awards, assisted by the category sponsors.

Afterwards, we all sat down to a 2-Course lunch and reflected on the vital role volunteers play in our society.

Of course in our eyes, every volunteer deserves recognition and whilst we cant give certificates to all 140,000 of Cornwall's volunteers, we can shine a light on their outstanding work through events like this.

Everyone who was nominated will receive a certificate in due course whilst the Highly Commended and Winners have their glass trophies and certificates as a reminder of the day.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who was nominated or made a nomination, to the Sponsors who make the event possible with their generous funding and to the Atlantic Hotel for hosting us.

This year's overall Volunteer of the Year was Terence Bolt, winner of the Volunteer Supporting Elders category. Below are the details of those who were Highly Commended or Winners (in bold), by category:
