Cornwall is a great place to live but its rural nature and spread out towns can make isolation and lack of ready access to transport a problem for some of us. Volunteer Cornwall works, through the use of volunteer drivers, to reduce isolation and to make getting around possible for those without other transport options.
Our volunteer drivers provide lifts to anyone in need of assistance with transport whether that is individual members of the public who need help getting to important appointments, or charities who need to get their people to activities or events. We also can arrange transport in our accessible vehicle and minibus if needed.
We have in excess of 200 volunteer drivers, all of whom are thoroughly vetted, and trained, throughout Cornwall who make a real difference in their community. All journeys are arranged through our transport team who ensure that the most suitable volunteer is used, that the costs to passengers are kept to a minimum, and that if a driver is unavailable an alternative is found as quickly as possible
Along with the community transport scheme, we also have a selection of other services in place with more in the pipeline.Read more
