All the fun of the fair

A Community gathered together Saturday March 25th, to not only celebrate the joys of spring but to also celebrate it’s homemade wares, projects and groups.  There were jams and chutneys, breads and pastries, cushions and scarfs, plants and yummy cakes.  All alongside one another creating a warm buzz of community activity.  Hosted by the mayor of Liskeard the event was well attended culminating in a raffle at the end in which I claimed a prize of a bag.

Everybody hosted their own table.  There was Young People Cornwall and Your Way, Volunteer Cornwall, Scope and the CAB.  There was the colourful RVS (Royal Voluntary Service) and the active Community Treasure Chest providing recycled furniture at affordable prices and helping to support other community groups.  There were tapestries, knitwear and plants galore, everything and anything was welcome. It seemed everyone was keen to talk and mingle, there was an awful lot of creativity in the hall.  A successful Liskeard fair full of colour and charm.  A very pleasant way to spend a Saturday!
