Cornwall Healthy Living Centre
Cornwall Healthy Living Centre’s Pathways to Health & Wellbeing project aims to empower and support individuals from deprived communities and families, people with low level mental ill health and people aged over 50 to overcome their barriers and assist them to progress onto the pathways of health and wellbeing via a range of wellbeing activities, including lifestyle mentoring/coaching, self-esteem, life-skills and confidence training, counselling, volunteering, physical activities/exercises and healthy eating/cooking.
The project aims to work in partnership with GPs, health professionals and voluntary and community organisations/groups to support individuals to encourage them to make a positive change in their lifestyle.
We are installing the CHLC database/website in GP surgeries to increase access to wellbeing information and activities for local people to improve their health and wellbeing in a more holistic and proactive way.
We recruit Volunteers as mentors and buddies to provide a network of support for individuals in order to promote a positive lifestyle and to improve confidence and self esteem for individuals through volunteering.
