Which Project?

Volunteer Cornwall believes volunteering is for everyone. But sometimes, a little extra help is needed to ensure this vision remains a reality. Working with a variety of partners, we deliver a range of projects designed to support individuals and groups to volunteer.

ViVA

An acronym of Volunteering In Vulnerable Adults, viva is a countywide initiative providing support for individuals with a range of disabilities who want to volunteer or who are already active in volunteering. Click here to read more……

Transport Department

The transport department of Volunteer Cornwall has an objective to work towards addressing the isolation and social exclusion which exists in Cornwall. With that in mind we operate a number of different community transport schemes ourselves and provide expertise, training and assistance to other community groups who are either starting a new scheme or seeking to improve upon an existing scheme. Time Bank

Time Banks offer a different way of volunteering. Instead of volunteering for an organisation, you volunteer to help someone with a task and in return, someone helps you. For example, you may offer to take a neighbour’s dog for a walk because they are unable and in return, someone helps you with some DIY. Click here to read more……

Schools & Childrens Centres

Volunteer Cornwall employs a dedicated officer to support people to volunteer in local schools and Children’s Centres. Every community has a local school and every school could use your help. From supporting after-school clubs to accompanying field trips and out-of classroom learning there are so many opportunities on your doorstep. Contact your nearest Volunteer Centre for more information.

Civic Volunteering

We are partners in the ‘Take Part Pathfinder’ for Cornwall which is about getting more people involved in civic volunteering. Civic volunteering covers those roles which are performed by volunteers but are part of civic society. It includes Special Constables, Magistrates, School Governors and Town & Parish Councillors. Each of these roles is uniquely rewarding and we are keen to see more people across the county coming forward as volunteers. Your local Volunteer Centre can tell you more about civic volunteering opportunities available in your area. Click here to read more……
