Standards & Quality Marks
Volunteer Cornwall has been accredited with a range of nationally recognised quality marks that reflect on the high standards we maintain in the ways we work with our customers, staff and the way we govern ourselves.
The matrix Standard
The matrix Standard is the national quality standard for any organisation that delivers information, advice and/or guidance on learning and work. During Volunteer Cornwall’s assessment for the matrix Standard a wide range of our services and projects were assessed. These included: our Volunteer Centres, our Employment Projects, our Youth Volunteering activities and our work with vulnerable adults. In every respect we were seen to be providing an exceptional service to our clients and were viewed with respect by the partner organisations we are working with.
Investors in People (IIP)
Investors in People (IIP) is the UK’s leading people management standard, it provides a flexible framework helping us to improve our business performance. It focuses on the way in which we manage and develop our staff, leading to business improvement and better customer service.
Institute of Leaderships & Community Management (ILCM)
Institute of Leadership & community management (ILCM) is for community and voluntary groups that are already members of networks, forums or Inter-Links, have made use of training courses, but still want to improve. There are five levels and we are accredited at level 5, the highest. The ILCM is a new way of working and designed to improve capability and build capacity. The model aims to help members through an increasingly difficult period where funding is becoming harder to access and many more organisations are being encouraged to consider contracts (e.g. from Local Authorities). The model is a process for Voluntary and Community Organisations that allows them to demonstrate their capabilities so that they are in better position to bid for funding and/or contracts.
REACH
Reach is a quality mark for organisations working with Young People and is administered by the Youth Action Network. In order to meet the standard, organisations must demonstrate a focus towards a ‘youth led’ approach to its work with young people.
EEFO
Volunteer Cornwall has been accredited with the EEFO Award Level 1, this shows that the organisation is young person friendly. For further information please click:
