Last Minute Heroes
Volunteer Cornwall is looking for people to sign up to a bank of volunteers that we are calling ‘Last Minute Heroes’
Of course all volunteers are heroes, but every now and then we get requests for help with events or situations where something has happened that was not foreseen or someone has been let down. It may be that a volunteer with a vital role at an event has taken ill or it may be something like last year’s heavy snows or Swine Flu pandemic, and this year’s floods – situations where people are needed for one off duties at very short notice.
Volunteer Cornwall wants to create a list of people willing to help out in such circumstances. By signing up, you are not committing to anything other than to be contacted by your local Volunteer Centre if they are approached for help in a crisis. You are free to consider each request and say “yes” or “no” based on your circumstances at the time. But having such a list will enable us to offer a more speedy response to those in need.
So if you like the thought of one-off volunteering, and are willing to help out in an emergency, email us now with your Name, Contact Details and Location and we will get back to you.
