Here is an article from the BBC about why people dont volunteer:

It suggests the biggest barrier is time. But I know lots of people who hold down a full time job AND a family AND volunteer.

What do other people think. Is lack of time a legitimate reason or is it, as the article suggests, more a question of time management?

Ian, Volunteer Cornwall's Chief Executive was on Radio Cornwall this morning discussing Big Society. He mentioned that Cornwall has been delivering this for years. Cornwall has the highest level of volunteering anywhere in the country, 32.3% of people volunteeing on average once a month over the year compared to a national average of 26%. We must keep up this good work it is important to the wellbeing of individuals and communities to get people to support each other.Smile
