Changing Lives
‘Changing Lives’ is not a project but a way of working. It brings together a range of organisations in the public and voluntary sector and puts the service user at the heart of service delivery. In simple terms, it is about making better use of scarce resources and trying to avoid duplication of effort by encouraging staff and volunteers to act not on behalf of a single organisation but on behalf of the best interests of the person they are dealing with.
Sounds simple?
It is, but all to often organisations become too focused on their own needs and making the customer fit their services rather than the other way around. Changing Lives seeks to redress that balance.
If you want to be part of this revolution in service delivery in Cornwall, which is starting to attract national attention, partners in Changing Lives (including Age Concern, Cornwall Council, the Primary Care Trust and Volunteer Cornwall) have projects running that could use your skills and enthusiasm as a volunteer.
